Land Clearing & Forestry Mulching in Central Texas | Heritage Land & Habitat
Central Texas · Land Clearing

Clear it right the first time.

Forestry mulching, cedar & mesquite removal, fence lines, pad sites — clean work that doesn't tear up your property.

Fast, clean, and done right.

Whether you've got thick cedar, brush-choked access, fence lines that haven't seen daylight in years, or you're prepping for a new build — we handle it.

At Heritage Land & Habitat, we run professional-grade equipment and know how to clear land without tearing it to pieces. From 1-acre cleanups to large-scale habitat development, we'll get your property usable and cleaned up — fast.

No torn-up topsoil. No ruts six inches deep. No surprise charges when we leave. Just clean work, on schedule, at a fair price.

Clearing land is more than just knocking stuff down. Done right, it opens up property value. Done wrong, it's money wasted and a mess left behind.

From a half acre to a few hundred.

Every property is different. Every clearing job has its own challenges. Here's the work we do most often across Central Texas.

— 01

Cedar & Mesquite Removal

Mass removal of the two species choking Central Texas pastures. From a half acre to hundreds — for grazing, habitat, or water recovery.

— 02

Forestry Mulching

Trees and brush ground in place, leaving a nutrient-rich mulch bed that decomposes and protects the soil. Fast, eco-friendly, no haul-off needed.

— 03

Fence Line Clearing

Cleared, accessible fence lines for new fencing, fence repair, or just keeping your property line visible and maintainable.

— 04

Pad Sites & Site Prep

Clearing, root removal, and grading for new home construction, barns, shops, or anywhere you need a clean, level building site.

— 05

Trails & Access Clearing

Cut trails for ATV access, hunting, hiking, or moving equipment through wooded property. Built to last, not just hacked through.

— 06

Fire Mitigation & Brush Cleanup

Remove fuel loads around structures, clean up overgrowth, and reduce wildfire risk on rural acreage.

Two methods. The right one for your land.

Not every property needs the same approach. We match the method to the goal, the terrain, and what you want left behind.

METHOD ONE

Forestry Mulching

A rotary grinder or drum mulcher cuts and grinds entire trees in place — up to 14 inches in diameter — leaving a clean mulch bed behind.

  • Fastest, most eco-friendly clearing method
  • Mulch returns nutrients to the soil and reduces erosion
  • No burn piles, no haul-off, no follow-up work
  • Best for trails, fence lines, habitat work, and selective clearing
METHOD TWO

Bulldozer Clearing & Grubbing

For larger jobs or full clear-cuts, we run dozers to push trees, pull stumps, and grub roots — giving you a clean slate ready for building or pasture.

  • Best for large-scale clearing and pad site prep
  • Removes stumps and root systems completely
  • Pairs with grading, sloping, and dirt work
  • Clean finish ready for foundation, fence, or seed

Equipment for the job — not the brochure.

We run skid steers, excavators, bulldozers, brush grapples, and mulchers — whatever the job actually calls for.

No oversized iron tearing up your property. No undersized machines taking three times as long. The right tool for the terrain, run by people who know how to use it.

You get fast work with a clean finish, and we leave your land ready for whatever's next.

What it costs.

Clearing pricing depends on density, terrain, tree size, and access — but here's a real-world starting point:

  • Light to moderate density 2 – 5 acres per day · forestry mulching
  • Heavy cedar & mesquite 1 – 2 acres per day · depending on stem count
  • Full clear-cut & grub Quoted on site · larger scope, dozer work

We don't do drive-by quotes. We walk the property, look at what's actually there, and give you an honest number.

Landowners, builders, and everything in between.

From a homeowner reclaiming an overgrown back pasture to a developer prepping 200 acres for a subdivision, the work changes — but the standard doesn't.

+

Large-scale clearing for resale, subdivisions, solar installations, or pipeline corridors. On budget, on schedule.

Clearing land is more than knocking stuff down.

Done right, clearing opens up property value. It improves usability. It sets the foundation for fencing, ag use, wildlife development, or whatever comes next.

Done wrong, it's money wasted, ruts left behind, topsoil destroyed, and a property you can't even drive across.

We don't waste your time, and we don't tear up your property.

Cedar and mesquite are stealing water from your pasture. Overgrown fence lines are eating your boundary. Brush is hiding wildlife you didn't know you had. The land has more potential than it's showing — we help you unlock it.

What landowners ask first.

How long does it take to clear an acre?
Depends entirely on density. Light brush we can knock out 2–3 acres a day. Heavy cedar or mesquite slows us down to 1–2 acres a day. We give you a realistic timeline after walking the property.
Do you haul off the debris, or leave it on site?
For forestry mulching, everything gets ground in place — no debris, no haul-off needed. For dozer work, we can either pile and burn (where permitted), bury on site, or haul off depending on scope and your preference.
What size trees can you handle?
Our mulchers cut trees up to 14 inches in diameter. For larger trees or full stump removal, we switch to excavator or dozer work. Either way, we handle it.
Will you tear up my pasture?
No. We run tracked equipment that distributes weight, work in dry conditions where possible, and pay attention to what we're driving over. Clean work isn't optional — it's part of the job.
Can you preserve specific trees?
Yes. Selective clearing is one of our specialties. Mark the trees you want kept, and we'll work around them. This is especially common for heritage oaks and large native hardwoods.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. We don't have an arbitrary minimum. If it makes sense for your property and ours, we'll book it. Half-acre fence line cleanups are real jobs and we treat them that way.
What counties do you serve?
We work across Central Texas: Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Burnet, Blanco, Caldwell, Bell, Milam, and Lee counties — plus surrounding areas case-by-case.
